At peace

Well our adventure with alzheimer's is officially over. Mom went to be with the Lord today at 12:33 am. I must say that I was pretty prepared or as prepared as one can be. I hope never to experience this again but I am sure that I will. Watching someone you love pass away is horrific-the smells, the sounds, the images will haunt me for a long time. The image of her right now as she lies in the bed just a room over is one that will not easily erase from my memory. She is so cold, so skinny , so lifeless that it is difficult. More later hospice is here.

I am so sorry for your loss. Not just for the loss you are experiencing today, but all the little losses along the way. My heart is with you. I hope you have a brand new sense of peace today, knowing the struggle is over.

I've told your father elsewhere that he is in my thoughts and prayers, but I wanted to tell you as well. I've followed your mother's story here as well as with your father. I am so sorry that this horrible disease hit your mother. She is, as you said, now at peace. Suffering is over.

Kim,I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother no longer has Alzeheimers. You will always have that special bond with her, she will always love you and watch over you. Her love is no longer a given love but now is the legacy of a love given...may God give you and your family the strength and comfort in the coming times...Debbie (Maine)
